Chiampo is a town in the province of Vicenza that has become famous for the religious movement that developed around the Marian sanctuary.
The parish church was built around the year one thousand but the current building dates back to 1962.
What remains of the ancient church are a statuette of the "Madonna with Child" from 1480 in painted marble and the Baroque altar from 1743 by a Venetian artist.
But at the heart of popular devotion is the "LOURDES CAVE" built in 1935, attracting almost a million pilgrims a year.
At the foot of the cave there is the tomb of Blessed Claudio while on the right there is a suggestive 560 m long via crucis made with bronze statues and immersed in the botanical garden.
The Via Crucis of Chiampo is one of the most beautiful in the world.

It is located in the complex dedicated to Blessed Claudio Granzotto, a Franciscan friar sculptor who rebuilt the Grotto of the Madonna of Lourdes in Chiampo.
A sanctuary that absolutely deserves to be visited, in the jubilee year of the 150th anniversary of the apparitions in Lourdes, it was one of the very few sites that were valid for the plenary indulgence in place of the visit to Lourdes …

Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. Place dedicated to prayer. There are two churches, the Madonna cave and a path dedicated to the Via Crucis. Even if you are not devout, here you will find peace and comfort among the trees and in the arms of the Madonnina
